Glass, paint, light
Commissioned by YMERE + Amsterdam City Council
In collaboration with Timothy Ingen Housz.
Re-using a series of obsolete bay windows on what was once the longest façade of Amsterdam Elevating Witte de With, featured a profusion of lights, slowly moving similar to an elevator, up and down the bay windows. The installation created a lively scene that illustrates the corridor’s original function: a buffer between private and public space. Lights slowly move like lifts up and down the bay windows. This creates a lively scene that illustrates the original function: a buffer between private and public.
