For the Wind is an autonomous artwork made up of dynamically placed ‘straws’ that form a visual element while also reducing wind interference.
A moving image is here – as in a ‘film still’ – frozen and captured in a strong form. The integrated seating elements also create a literal resting point; at the same time, it is a dynamic image that forms a visual, artistic connection between the buildings. The design also has a strong 'backside' and a particularly beautiful solution for the wall along the staircase.
By subtly and indirectly applying light, the artwork also becomes an interesting image in the evening and night. In the quieter central shopping area at that time, the artwork manifests itself more as a spectacle.
